Hazaribagh celebrates Sohrai art with traditional wall paintings

Women artists from several villages took part in a Sohrai art festival in Hazaribagh, painting walls with traditional Sohrai and Khovar motifs using clay and natural colours.

Sohrai is an old folk art form of Jharkhand, painted on village homes during the harvest and cattle festival.

Workshops at the festival introduced school students and visitors to the technique.
